Carlos Arixo went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of OMONOIA's goalie and right to Clodoveo Matro. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. OMONOIA's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 10 minutes into the game, OMONOIA's Matias Araújo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ciro Nerio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Ciro Nerio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 邵城沙, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ciro Nerio came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by OMONOIA's 邵城沙. But to his dismay, 邵城沙 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Turgay Hafi might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Timmy Standaerts. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Turgay Hafi ran back to his position shaking his head. Timmy Standaerts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Turgay Hafi, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After 27 minutes, Carlos Arixo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bancruz F.C and the OMONOIA players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Turgay Hafi in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Timmy Standaerts saved OMONOIA from getting behind. In the 33rdth minute of the game Turgay Hafi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but OMONOIA's Timmy Standaerts was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Bancruz F.C's Turgay Hafi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Timmy Standaerts narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 38th minute Turgay Hafi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timmy Standaerts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. OMONOIA's Timmy Standaerts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Turgay Hafi in the 43rd minute of play. Ciro Nerio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matias Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 45th minute Turgay Hafi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timmy Standaerts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Matias Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

In the 53rd minute of the match, 邵城沙 tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ciro Nerio saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With an all-out effort, OMONOIA's Ciro Nerio threw himself towards the right post 67 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Honorio Vergas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Timmy Standaerts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Turgay Hafi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. OMONOIA's Innokentiy Bugakov was substituted for Seilenos Chrysanthopoulos. Bancruz F.C's Nunez Tano quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Napoleon Kiewra, made in the 72nd minute of the game. The corner went over the outstretched arms of OMONOIA's goalie and right to Alfonso Tauro. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Çelikan Koçaş fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timmy Standaerts having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Çelikan Koçaş's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Timmy Standaerts was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
