After some careless play in the istanbulls defense, Marcos Lluis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Göksel Canfeda. The istanbulls fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Göksel Canfeda should have stopped the shot. Göksel Canfeda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Su Jun Yang in the 32nd minute of the match. Su Jun Yang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Göksel Canfeda having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, CheR FC's Marcos Lluis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Göksel Canfeda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. CheR FC's Hipolito Frasquito quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Berkay Şahiner, made in the 38th minute of the game. In the 40th minute Quentin Brookman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Göksel Canfeda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. CheR FC were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after istanbulls's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Victor Clifford took the corner. Göksel Canfeda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Lluis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Berkay Şahiner kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Göksel Canfeda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcos Lluis's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Senna to make the kick off.
