In the 12th minute, FC Zhelezna's Gilberto Garaile ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Santos Perez. Santos Perez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. FC Zhelezna's attentive Yoan Boboshevski managed to snatch the ball when Dominic Delgado made a throw-in in the 51st minute of the game. Gilberto Garaile might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Santos Perez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilberto Garaile ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilberto Garaile in the 55th minute of play forced Persepolis F.C.'s goalkeeper Santos Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the game, Persepolis F.C.'s Léopold Castro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. FC Zhelezna were victorious despite being under pressure from Persepolis F.C. for much of the match.
