Lanús's Matt Le Tissier got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, FC Kurdish Warriors's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Puch came free, but Wictor Hagström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roberto Puch blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wictor Hagström having to make a save. Roberto Puchs short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Wictor Hagström to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 37th minute, Roberto Puch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 39 minutes into the match, FC Kurdish Warriors's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Puch came free, but Wictor Hagström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Arne Gustafsson in the 45th minute of play forced Lanús's goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Lanús's Arnaldo Mendebal was substituted for Esteve Herrera. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eloy Gaskon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Eloy Gaskon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 56 minutes FC Kurdish Warriors's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jake Hursey who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Eloy Gaskon almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Kurdish Warriors's Wictor Hagström did a great save. Wictor Hagström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eloy Gaskon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th minute Isac Christoffersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Neuer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matt Le Tissier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Timmy Hasselqvist hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute, Timmy Hasselqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wictor Hagström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eloy Gaskon's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eloy Gaskon in the 70th minute of play forced FC Kurdish Warriors's goalkeeper Wictor Hagström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Kurdish Warriors's Wictor Hagström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eloy Gaskon in the 71st minute of play. Lanús's Ladislao Barros pulled a muscle in his back after 72 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 73 minutes into the game, Anthon Svanér was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Kurdish Warriors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lanús the free kick. Lanús's Augusto Oliviero was substituted for Ladislao Barros. The supporters of Lanús booed when FC Kurdish Warriors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anthon Svanér didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute Eloy Gaskon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wictor Hagström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eloy Gaskon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wictor Hagström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. Lanús's Jake Hursey was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Wictor Hagström in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lanús fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Kurdish Warriors had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
