After 5 played minutes Grêmio Santo André got a freekick which was hit by Dalmacio Vermudo. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Örjan Forssell in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ladislav Telepovský prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Grêmio Santo André defense, Örjan Forssell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ladislav Telepovský. The Grêmio Santo André fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ladislav Telepovský should have stopped the shot. When Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Örjan Forssell in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Grêmio Santo André's goalie prevented a goal. In the 22nd minute Örjan Forssell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ladislav Telepovský saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Grêmio Santo André booed when Deportivo Peñarol FIFV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quinton Isern didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Quinton Isern came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Deportivo Peñarol FIFV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Quinton Isern couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Grêmio Santo André getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Ernani Ribeiro hit a great ball. Petru Nisporeanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dalmacio Vermudo in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Örjan Forssell in the 36th minute of play forced Grêmio Santo André's goalkeeper Ladislav Telepovský to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ladislav Telepovský came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Quinton Isern. But to his dismay, Quinton Isern quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. When Örjan Forssell came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Deportivo Peñarol FIFV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Örjan Forssell couldn't finish the play. Örjan Forssell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ladislav Telepovský having to make a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Örjan Forssell to make the kick off. In the 51st minute of the match, Liu Yan Yan got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ladislav Telepovský was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Ladislav Telepovský showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Örjan Forssell, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Örjan Forssell was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 58th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Ladislav Telepovský came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Örjan Forssell. But to his dismay, Örjan Forssell quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Ladislav Telepovský made an important save on a dangerous shot by Örjan Forssell in the 69th minute. A collision led to Grêmio Santo André getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Jeferson Santana hit a great ball. Santiago Oliverio charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Santiago Oliverio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 80 minutes into the game, Örjan Forssell recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ladislav Telepovský. Örjan Forssell showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. Örjan Forssell's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute, Ladislav Telepovský skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Petru Nisporeanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernani Ribeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Telmo da Mata hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Ladislav Telepovský showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oriche Ruelas in the 89th minute of the match. In the 90th minute of the match Deportivo Peñarol FIFV got a corner. Grêmio Santo André's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Liu Yan Yan ran over to the corner to take the kick. 94 minutes into the match, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Cortez Morera sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ladislav Telepovský narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Deportivo Peñarol FIFV players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
