The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. João Adolfo Peixoto kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. In the 9th minute Sebastian Dulka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natanael Paraense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Mick Jagger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Steen Müür took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Diniz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute, Goiás Esporte Clube's Dênis Faria ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Steen Müür. Steen Müür yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 21st match minute, De hijgende Hertjes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by King Sputore to maneuver through the defense. De hijgende Hertjes's Mick Jagger quite brazenly broke a throw-in by João Adolfo Peixoto, made in the 26th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcus Diniz got free with Steen Müür in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 33 minutes into the game, Goiás Esporte Clube's Marcus Diniz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Steen Müür made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. When Mick Jagger came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the De hijgende Hertjes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mick Jagger couldn't finish the play. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Umberto Peres sped through De hijgende Hertjes's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Steen Müür. Valdir Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. João Adolfo Peixoto hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Sebastian Dulka made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dênis Faria in the 51st minute of play forced De hijgende Hertjes's goalkeeper Steen Müür to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 53 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Goiás Esporte Clube! 58 minutes into the match, Goiás Esporte Clube's Dênis Faria sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Steen Müür narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sebastian Dulka's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Natanael Paraense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. In the 74th match minute, De hijgende Hertjes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by King Sputore to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Goiás Esporte Clube's Valdir Neves tried to score from far away in the 75th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Dulka in the 77th minute of play forced Goiás Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Natanael Paraense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Umberto Peres in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Steen Müür prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sebastian Dulka was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 83rd minute. De hijgende Hertjes's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Goiás Esporte Clube's Dênis Faria in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye De hijgende Hertjes's goalie prevented a goal. In the 86thth minute of the game Umberto Peres who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but De hijgende Hertjes's Steen Müür was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mick Jagger hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the De hijgende Hertjes defense, Valdir Neves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Steen Müür. The De hijgende Hertjes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Steen Müür should have stopped the shot.
