Borys Biegun's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alvaro Valente read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Borys Biegun notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Scofield's Alvaro Valente. Alvaro Valente was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Borys Biegun might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alvaro Valente. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Borys Biegun ran back to his position shaking his head. Borys Biegun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabio Iago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alvaro Valente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Borys Biegun, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Lucjan Zbytniewski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feliciano Baumar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Borys Biegun to make the kick off.
