Pipis Karapatakis might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Afiq Hongyi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pipis Karapatakis ran back to his position shaking his head. Afiq Hongyi made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Pipis Karapatakis sent off a good shot on target. Felix Braddell charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felix Braddell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 10th minute, Felix Braddell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 12th minute, Pipis Karapatakis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Afiq Hongyi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Pipis Karapatakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Afiq Hongyi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 18 minutes into the match, 苏州觅香足球俱乐部's goalkeeper Afiq Hongyi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pipis Karapatakis. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jithu Low in the 20th minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Jardel Sanches to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Afiq Hongyi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pipis Karapatakis in the 22nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Pipis Karapatakis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Afiq Hongyi. That made the score 2-0 in the 24 minute of play. When Pipis Karapatakis came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Grêmio FBPA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pipis Karapatakis couldn't finish the play. Alberto Estevon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Afiq Hongyi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind 苏州觅香足球俱乐部's goalkeeper Afiq Hongyi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 43rd minute Pipis Karapatakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afiq Hongyi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th minute, Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pipis Karapatakis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pipis Karapatakis scored 6-0 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Afiq Hongyi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
