The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Suat Kaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Genk's Jannes Van Leempoel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Takis Ntolkas in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute Suat Kaya shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bai Feng Wen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 17 minutes Armageddon's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Loui Wouqier who took care of the corner kick. Jannes Van Leempoel made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Giannis Zouboulakis sent off a good shot on target. If Suat Kaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 25 in the game by Giannis Zouboulakis from a close distance when the talented Jannes Van Leempoel managed to make a qualified save. Genk's players were relieved. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Takis Ntolkas in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jannes Van Leempoel saved Genk from getting behind. Suat Kaya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Suat Kaya fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Genk's protests and gave Suat Kaya a yellow card for diving instead. In the 43rd minute, Suat Kaya hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Suat Kaya might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bai Feng Wen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Suat Kaya ran back to his position shaking his head. Bai Feng Wen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Suat Kaya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Suat Kaya could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Bai Feng Wen made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Takis Ntolkas in the 57th minute of play forced Genk's goalkeeper Jannes Van Leempoel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Genk's Jannes Van Leempoel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Takis Ntolkas in the 58th minute of play. Suat Kaya was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 63rd minute. Genk's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Dimosthenis Rogas kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Suat Kaya struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Bai Feng Wen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Genk. Genk made a substitution. Vergil Rupov replaced Suat Kaya. A collision led to Genk getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Thomas-Jan Van de Weijer hit a great ball. If Vergil Rupov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute Christos Kaberis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jannes Van Leempoel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Takis Ntolkas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jannes Van Leempoel having to interfere. A collision led to Genk getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Loui Wouqier hit a great ball. Jannes Van Leempoel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giannis Zouboulakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Jannes Van Leempoel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Takis Ntolkas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jannes Van Leempoel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Takis Ntolkas in the 88th minute of play. With a little luck, Armageddon's Bai Feng Wen got control of the ball when Vergil Rupov tried to sneak it across the goal line. Genk's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Loui Wouqier in the 94th minute. After taking down the ball on Genk's corner Loui Wouqier fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Bai Feng Wen quite easily take care of the ball. Genk were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
