Rene Nesto kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Trayko Gradinarski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Mede having to interfere. Mariano Mede stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Podador Raheiro's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. When Rene Nesto fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Somos Nosotros's protests and gave Rene Nesto a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Club Deportes Santa Cruz booed when Somos Nosotros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rene Nesto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the game, Podador Raheiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Mariano Mede was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rene Nesto kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After 17 played minutes Club Deportes Santa Cruz got a freekick which was hit by Vágner Linares. Podador Raheiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mariano Mede having to make a save. Somos Nosotros's Mariano Mede played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Podador Raheiro in the 19th minute of play. The supporters of Somos Nosotros booed when Club Deportes Santa Cruz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto Gebhard didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Podador Raheiro in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mariano Mede saved Somos Nosotros from getting behind. 27 minutes into the game, Podador Raheiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Mariano Mede was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 29 minutes into the match, Somos Nosotros's goal looked a bit too open when Podador Raheiro came free, but Mariano Mede reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mariano Mede came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Podador Raheiro. But to his dismay, Podador Raheiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Somos Nosotros's Mariano Mede played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Podador Raheiro in the 34th minute of play. After 37 minutes, Segundo Jago mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Somos Nosotros and the Club Deportes Santa Cruz players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 37 played minutes Somos Nosotros got a freekick which was hit by Segundo Jago. The audience was convinced that Podador Raheiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mariano Mede was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Podador Raheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Podador Raheiro in the 42nd minute of play forced Somos Nosotros's goalkeeper Mariano Mede to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Podador Raheiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mariano Mede narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulino Palben stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Yan Zhi Chuan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mariano Mede read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. After having played for 58 minutes, Yan Zhi Chuan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yan Zhi Chuan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Somos Nosotros's Segundo Jago got his second yellow card of the match in the 59th minute. The referee ordered Segundo Jago off the ground. A collision led to Somos Nosotros getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Segundo Jago hit a great ball. If Yan Zhi Chuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Yan Zhi Chuan got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 72nd minute Club Deportes Santa Cruz were awarded a corner. Gilberto Sandoval went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Yan Zhi Chuan heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yan Zhi Chuan in the 76th minute of play forced Somos Nosotros's goalkeeper Mariano Mede to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 77 minutes of play, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Yan Zhi Chuan made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mariano Mede was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 81stth minute of the game Yan Zhi Chuan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Somos Nosotros's Mariano Mede was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Yan Zhi Chuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Somos Nosotros's Mariano Mede got control of the ball when Yan Zhi Chuan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Amador Shepherd's late challenge caught a Club Deportes Santa Cruz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amador Shepherd helped the player get up and apologised. Yan Zhi Chuan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mariano Mede having to make a save. In the 89th minute of the match, Yan Zhi Chuan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mariano Mede saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 91st minute Yan Zhi Chuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mariano Mede saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th match minute, Club Deportes Santa Cruz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yan Zhi Chuan to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Club Deportes Santa Cruz could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Somos Nosotros throughout the match.
