In the 18th minute Alberto Montae shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melker Ödman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Celestino Umea made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Jens-Ove Persson sent off a good shot on target. Celestino Umea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
