The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edvīns van der Sar came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Emeryt Sosnowiec's Olaf Glozor. But to his dismay, Olaf Glozor quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Damian Chorche might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cícero Palmeira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Damian Chorche ran back to his position shaking his head. Through an outstanding action, after 11 minutes, Edvīns van der Sar successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Juventud Unida S L's Edvīns van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Helguera in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Emeryt Sosnowiec's goalkeeper Cícero Palmeira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edvīns van der Sar made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Viktor Cziráki sent off a good shot on target. In the 20th minute of the match Juventud Unida S L got a corner. Emeryt Sosnowiec's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. José Raya ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 25th minute of the match, Alexander Helguera tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Edvīns van der Sar saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Emeryt Sosnowiec's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Radja Poerwonegoro in the 27th minute. A nice corner shot did that Viktor Cziráki got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Edvīns van der Sar quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Edvīns van der Sar was a little too slow when Alexander Helguera got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 2-0. Emeryt Sosnowiec's Cícero Palmeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damian Chorche in the 35th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Damian Chorche managed to get in a good position for a shot. Juventud Unida S L's supporters rose to their feet, but Damian Chorche was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cícero Palmeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Emeryt Sosnowiec's Antal Fodor was substituted for Viktor Cziráki. Emeryt Sosnowiec made a substitution. Hjalmar Lindkvist replaced Olaf Glozor. Edvīns van der Sar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antal Fodor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juventud Unida S L's Damian Chorche got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cícero Palmeira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Damian Chorche in the 73rd minute. After 74 minutes Emeryt Sosnowiec's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was José Raya who took care of the corner kick. In the 76th minute Szymon Lipa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvīns van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexander Helguera took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edvīns van der Sar. Edvīns van der Sar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. 83 minutes into the match, Juventud Unida S L's goal looked a bit too open when Antal Fodor came free, but Edvīns van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antal Fodor in the 97th minute of play forced Juventud Unida S L's goalkeeper Edvīns van der Sar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexander Helguera spun around in front of the goal 97 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Juventud Unida S L's goal.
