In the 2nd minute of the game, David Alaba landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. When Miguel Ángel Benito fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cascadia United's protests and gave Miguel Ángel Benito a yellow card for diving instead. SvE United's Zlatan Denishev was substituted for David Alaba. After 3 played minutes Cascadia United got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Ángel Benito. Tzvetoslav Desov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Ángel Benito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leonel Rocco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonny Kleen in the 8th minute of play. Cascadia United's Leonel Rocco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitko Kozlov in the 12th minute of play. In the 13th minute SvE United were awarded a corner. Jonny Kleen went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Matey Balabanov managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After 17 played minutes Cascadia United got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Ángel Benito. After a defensive mix-up in SvE United's zone, Miguel Ángel Benito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tzvetoslav Desov came out of the goal and Miguel Ángel Benito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SvE United's Tzvetoslav Desov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Ángel Benito in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute Cascadia United were awarded a corner. Rene Pueblo went to the cornerflag to take it. Tzvetoslav Desov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Ángel Benito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th match minute, SvE United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nasko Shatov to maneuver through the defense. Leonel Rocco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hristo Stoichkov in the 32nd minute of play. If Wang Di Yi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute, Miguel Ángel Benito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Cascadia United's Constantino Neto was substituted for Abel Neron. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vitko Kozlov made a kick off. After a rather tough play, SvE United's Vitko Kozlov got a free kick in the 53rd minute. If Leopold Greve had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonel Rocco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hristo Stoichkov in the 59th minute. When Cascadia United's Miguel Ángel Benito in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SvE United's goalie prevented a goal. After 62 played minutes Cascadia United got a freekick which was hit by Wang Di Yi. Leonel Rocco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Spiro Mutashki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zlatan Denishev kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Miguel Ángel Benito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Miguel Ángel Benito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes had been played when some careless play by SvE United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rene Pueblo was slow to take the kick. During this time Cascadia United's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Cascadia United's Baltasar Piorno getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Leonel Rocco was out of position in the 75 minute of play, and Hristo Stoichkov capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hristo Stoichkov really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. Cascadia United made a substitution. Agustin Bittor replaced Leopold Greve. Leonel Rocco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jonny Kleen's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute Agustin Bittor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tzvetoslav Desov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 85 played minutes Cascadia United got a freekick which was hit by Wang Di Yi. Hristo Stoichkov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th match minute, Cascadia United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iván Pillud to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute Miguel Ángel Benito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tzvetoslav Desov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tzvetoslav Desov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustin Bittor in the 97th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SvE United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
