The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Nick Heesen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cascadia United's Leonel Rocco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nick Heesen in the 9th minute of play. Leonel Rocco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gert van den Bergh in the 13th minute. The audience was convinced that Nick Heesen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonel Rocco was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. In the 17th minute of the match Ágætis Byrjun got a corner. Cascadia United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ladislao Cordarius ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Ágætis Byrjun's Vitaliy Vorobey to fire away a dangerous shot which Leonel Rocco despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A collision led to Cascadia United getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Miguel Ángel Benito hit a great ball. Nick Heesen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nick Heesen in the 24th minute of play forced Cascadia United's goalkeeper Leonel Rocco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 25 minutes of play, Ágætis Byrjun's Nick Heesen made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leonel Rocco was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nick Heesen in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leonel Rocco saved Cascadia United from getting behind. Ágætis Byrjun's Nick Heesen got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 33 minutes into the game, Ágætis Byrjun's Nick Heesen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leonel Rocco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Nick Heesen might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonel Rocco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nick Heesen ran back to his position shaking his head. 45 minutes into the match, Nick Heesen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leonel Rocco. Cascadia United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nick Heesen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Leonel Rocco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nick Heesen in the 48th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Cascadia United's Constantino Neto was substituted for Abel Neron. The wind increased when Nick Heesen made the kick off in the second half. Cascadia United's Rene Pueblo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Georg Hagberg in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Cascadia United's Agustin Bittor was substituted for Leopold Greve. Baltasar Piorno made in the 77th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Iván Pillud. 79 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Georg Hagberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agustin Bittor. Leonel Rocco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nick Heesen in the 80th minute of the match. Ágætis Byrjun's Alejandro dos Santos managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Baltasar Piorno in the 86 minute of the game. If Nick Heesen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Leonel Rocco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nick Heesen in the 87th minute of the match. Paúl Laime hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. When Rene Pueblo came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Cascadia United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rene Pueblo couldn't finish the play. Ágætis Byrjun's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
