After a rather tough play, PROTON F.C.'s Marco Mistral got a free kick in the 3rd minute. With a little luck, PROTON F.C.'s Taka Levidze got control of the ball when Odysseas Lazaroglou tried to sneak it across the goal line. Taka Levidze took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fotis Pegiadis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juan Carlos Caticura hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aníbal Veliz in the 10th minute of play forced AEK KAVALAS FC's goalkeeper Grigoris Zacharas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of AEK KAVALAS FC booed when PROTON F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adelio Masoli didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the game, Odysseas Lazaroglou cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Taka Levidze was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. PROTON F.C.'s Taka Levidze played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Takis Rodostoglou in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th minute Marco Mistral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grigoris Zacharas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adelio Masoli kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Emil Giurcă's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Taka Levidze read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Grigoris Zacharas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enric Blanch in the 22nd minute of play. After 22 minutes of play, PROTON F.C.'s Enric Blanch made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Grigoris Zacharas was left in no man's land by his defense there! 29 minutes into the match, PROTON F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Fotis Pegiadis came free, but Taka Levidze reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marco Mistral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Taka Levidze took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fotis Pegiadis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. AEK KAVALAS FC's Grigoris Zacharas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Mistral in the 36th minute of play. Emil Giurcă charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emil Giurcă the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 47 played minutes AEK KAVALAS FC got a freekick which was hit by Emil Giurcă.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Odysseas Lazaroglou stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Fotis Pegiadis notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of PROTON F.C.'s Taka Levidze. Taka Levidze was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Enric Blanch could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Grigoris Zacharas made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in PROTON F.C.'s zone, Fotis Pegiadis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Taka Levidze came out of the goal and Fotis Pegiadis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Soulis Aggelakoglou hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 59thth minute of the game Aníbal Veliz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AEK KAVALAS FC's Grigoris Zacharas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Taka Levidze took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fotis Pegiadis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Enric Blanch managed to get in a good position for a shot. PROTON F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Enric Blanch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Grigoris Zacharas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. AEK KAVALAS FC made a substitution. Hermenegildo Monteiro replaced Fotis Pegiadis. In the 73rd minute Takis Rodostoglou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Taka Levidze saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Takis Rodostoglou hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Takis Rodostoglou in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Taka Levidze saved PROTON F.C. from getting behind. Grigoris Zacharas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Mistral in the 90th minute of the match. Taka Levidze made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermenegildo Monteiro in the 91st minute of play. PROTON F.C.'s Taka Levidze played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Odysseas Lazaroglou in the 95th minute of play. There was no doubt that AEK KAVALAS FC were the better team. AEK KAVALAS FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
