Ümit Karan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Primeiro Leto having to interfere. In the 22ndth minute of the game Guido Vissenaeken who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Argentinos del Norte's Primeiro Leto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Argentinos del Norte's Primeiro Leto got control of the ball when Guido Vissenaeken tried to sneak it across the goal line. Remigio Castulo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Vítor Baia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Guido Vissenaeken managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brugge United's supporters rose to their feet, but Guido Vissenaeken was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Primeiro Leto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 61st minute Domenico Gentili shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Baia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guido Vissenaeken might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Primeiro Leto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vítor Baia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domenico Gentili, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Vítor Baia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domenico Gentili in the 82nd minute of play. Primeiro Leto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnauld Van Impe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnauld Van Impe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out.
