Fernando Ruisko didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rune Griffenfeld went, in the 2nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Donato Bordon was a little too slow when Anier Christobal got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 6th minute. The score was now 1-1. Esbjerg fB's Donato Bordon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurelio Aureo in the 8th minute of play. In the 9thth minute of the game Aurelio Aureo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Esbjerg fB's Donato Bordon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 11th match minute, El Millo de Haedo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Feliciano Gilabert to maneuver through the defense. Fernando Ruisko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rune Griffenfeld, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute Servet Turabi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Ruisko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Esbjerg fB's 蔡强天 got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 19th minute Aurelio Aureo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Bordon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mourits Wermelin kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Donato Bordon was out of position in the 25 minute of play, and Anier Christobal capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Anier Christobal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Donato Bordon made a huge save. Feliciano Gilabert charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Feliciano Gilabert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Feliciano Gilabert hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 37th minute Anier Christobal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Bordon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jorge Olguín hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. A collision led to El Millo de Haedo getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Feliciano Gilabert hit a great ball. Fernando Ruisko came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Esbjerg fB's Pelle Hvidegaard. But to his dismay, Pelle Hvidegaard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2.

Rune Griffenfeld in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Fernando Ruisko, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Donato Bordon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remigio Uhin in the 55th minute of the match. Jorge Olguín might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Donato Bordon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jorge Olguín ran back to his position shaking his head. Esbjerg fB's Donato Bordon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anier Christobal in the 59th minute of play. Jorge Olguín succeeded in the game's 60th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-2. A collision led to El Millo de Haedo getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Alejo Urtun hit a great ball. When Pelle Hvidegaard fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Esbjerg fB's protests and gave Pelle Hvidegaard a yellow card for diving instead. Pelle Hvidegaard hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Rune Griffenfeld received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Fernando Ruisko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute Remigio Uhin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Bordon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Pelle Hvidegaard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donato Bordon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alejo Urtun in the 79th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Gonzalez in the 85th minute of play forced Esbjerg fB's goalkeeper Donato Bordon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Esbjerg fB getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Rune Griffenfeld hit a great ball. In the 96th minute, Max Rambov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute of the match Alejo Urtun sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Donato Bordon skillfully saved the ball.
