Niyazi Derim guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Niyazi Derim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jonas Tunberg went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulão Diniz got free with Edgar Poe in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. From a short distance, Jabaquara SC's Paulão Diniz, in the 20th minute, tried to place the ball behind Edgar Poe, but the ball hit the right post on the wrong side and went out. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonas Tunberg in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Niyazi Derim saved Jabaquara SC from getting behind. The throw-in from Dennis Hermansson in the 27th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Jabaquara SC's Fábio Arce. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Jonas Tunberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Royal Excel Mouscron's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonas Tunberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Niyazi Derim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dennis Hermansson during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd minute, Dennis Hermansson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 41 minutes, Erland Skager managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After the first half Royal Excel Mouscron were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jonas Tunberg made a kick off. Niyazi Derim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonas Tunberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Paulão Diniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Edgar Poe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 63 minutes, Can Dogo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jabaquara SC and the Royal Excel Mouscron players grew even worse after the yellow card. Niyazi Derim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Royal Excel Mouscron. Stiliyan Bisharov made in the 78th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Simon Kiempe. With his leg Niyazi Derim managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when Royal Excel Mouscron's Jonas Tunberg fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonas Tunberg in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Niyazi Derim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Royal Excel Mouscron booed when Jabaquara SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruperto Hever didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonas Tunberg in the 89thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Niyazi Derim, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Elvison Presley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulinho Fenomeno kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. The Jabaquara SC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Royal Excel Mouscron were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
