Fergus Maina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guido Luzaide, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Elpidio Vitin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Willem Rinert in the 20th minute of the match. Silverio Godoy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Elpidio Vitin made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silverio Godoy in the 39th minute of play forced Vélez Juniors's goalkeeper Elpidio Vitin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the game, Ämmer Sportfreaks's Silverio Godoy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elpidio Vitin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 43 minutes into the match, Vélez Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Gutierre Lauri came free, but Elpidio Vitin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gutierre Lauri made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Vélez Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Patricius Lafranchi came free, but Elpidio Vitin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernardo Sayvion fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fergus Maina having to interfere. Patricius Lafranchi took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elpidio Vitin. Elpidio Vitin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After 66 minutes of play, Vélez Juniors's Cristian Naike made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fergus Maina was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 70th minute, Patricius Lafranchi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ämmer Sportfreaks fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 73rd minute Cristian Naike shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fergus Maina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ämmer Sportfreaks's goalkeeper Fergus Maina, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 76 minutes Ämmer Sportfreaks's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Guido Luzaide who took care of the corner kick.
