The corner led CRUZ DEL SUR's Ronnie Odell to fire away a dangerous shot which Battal Refiğ despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Battal Refiğ showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Estefan in the 24th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Augusto Estefan managed to get in a good position for a shot. CRUZ DEL SUR's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Estefan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Battal Refiğ breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Augusto Estefan put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Battal Refiğ. Fan Yong Zhan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Battal Refiğ having to interfere.

With an extended leg and a bit of luck Battal Refiğ prevented the ball from getting in the gole. CRUZ DEL SUR's Augusto Estefan got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Battal Refiğ showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Estefan in the 62nd minute of the match.
