Blas Cidro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Blas Cidro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elpidio Francis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 17 minutes F.C. København's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Everardo Cordarell who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Zacarias Osorio almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but F.C. København's Blas Cidro did a great save. Terri Steenstrups short, quick shot in the 19thth minute got Branislav Velchevski to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After taking down the ball on ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's corner Everardo Cordarell fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Blas Cidro quite easily take care of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aşır Ekici in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Branislav Velchevski saved ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA from getting behind. After a rather tough play, F.C. København's Vilmer Tokkesdal got a free kick in the 46th minute. If Everardo Cordarell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elpidio Francis made a kick off. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Vilmer Tokkesdal was slow to take the kick. During this time F.C. København's players had a chance to rest. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Polkoski in the 96th minute of play.
