A collision led to Papillon AC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Louis Rotning hit a great ball. In the 12th minute Luisinho Laguna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean Van Damme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of El Gallo de Moron booed when Papillon AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florin Lopatnicu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luisinho Laguna struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Jean Van Damme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Gallo de Moron. Jean Van Damme came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by El Gallo de Moron's Luisinho Laguna. But to his dismay, Luisinho Laguna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisinho Laguna in the 22nd minute of play forced Papillon AC's goalkeeper Jean Van Damme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jean Van Damme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisinho Laguna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 28 played minutes El Gallo de Moron got a freekick which was hit by Ermanno Piccone. El Gallo de Moron's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Teofilo Garrote in the 33rd minute. The audience was convinced that Luisinho Laguna's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jean Van Damme was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. With a little luck, El Gallo de Moron's Nacho Gonzalez got control of the ball when Zosimo Vadillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luisinho Laguna made a kick off. El Gallo de Moron's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Luisinho Laguna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Jean Van Damme made a huge save.
