Marcelo Gröhe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paulino Cheche's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. 16 minutes into the match, JEMBer UTara's Paulino Cheche sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcelo Gröhe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulino Cheche got free with Marcelo Gröhe in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sport Club Mavericks's Zézinho Lopez got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sixto Naldo hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the game, Paulino Cheche recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcelo Gröhe. Paulino Cheche showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. A sloppy throw-in by İlyas Seçkiner in the 25th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Sport Club Mavericks's Marcus Pinho. Marcelo Gröhe was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Paulino Cheche showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 29 minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, JEMBer UTara's goal looked a bit too open when Zézinho Lopez came free, but Cheng Hao Wei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulino Cheche in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelo Gröhe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 39th minute Alfredão Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cheng Hao Wei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Paulino Cheche got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 47th minute, Sixto Naldo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sport Club Mavericks made a substitution. Arnaldo Baiano replaced Marcus Pinho. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dre Schipmans was the one to do the kick off. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind JEMBer UTara's goalkeeper Cheng Hao Wei, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 86th minute Aniol Peña shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Gröhe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arnaldo Baiano during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Aniol Peña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
