Diego Milito took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Victoriano Abel. Victoriano Abel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A collision led to Average Joes getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Zé Roberto Sousa hit a great ball. After 8 played minutes Average Joes got a freekick which was hit by Yavuz Bülent Özger. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Deportivo Balvanera's goalkeeper Abel Neron, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Abel Neron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per Rolandsson in the 13th minute of play. Abel Neron made an important save on a dangerous shot by Per Rolandsson in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute, Arthur Saba left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Average Joes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 18th minute Jo Blanchaert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Neron saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abel Neron stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jo Blanchaert's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jo Blanchaert in the 22nd minute of play forced Deportivo Balvanera's goalkeeper Abel Neron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Deportivo Balvanera booed when Average Joes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filip Flink didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diego Milito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Average Joes's Victoriano Abel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lisandro López in the 27th minute of play. Per Rolandsson took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Abel Neron. Abel Neron dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After 33 minutes Deportivo Balvanera's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ganix Herrera who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Average Joes's corner Ganix Herrera fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Abel Neron quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Candido Jakes in the 35th minute of play forced Average Joes's goalkeeper Victoriano Abel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yavuz Bülent Özger's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Abel Neron firmly grabbed it by the left post. 42 minutes into the game, Octavio Pes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Balvanera's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Average Joes the free kick. Average Joes's Ganix Herrera got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 45 minutes into the match, Deportivo Balvanera's goalkeeper Abel Neron had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arthur Saba. Victoriano Abel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lisandro López, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a defensive mix-up in Average Joes's zone, Adolfo Poz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victoriano Abel came out of the goal and Adolfo Poz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abel Neron stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jo Blanchaert's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Abel Neron took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Per Rolandsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abel Neron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nils-Emil Gulliksson in the 69th minute of the match. Per Rolandsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 77 minutes into the match, Average Joes's goal looked a bit too open when Severiano Taurino came free, but Victoriano Abel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Deportivo Balvanera were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after Average Joes's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Adolfo Poz took the corner. The corner ended in Adolfo Poz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Average Joes's Victoriano Abel did a great save. Through an outstanding action, after 81 minutes, Victoriano Abel successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Jeremias Silban managed to get in a good position for a shot. Average Joes's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeremias Silban was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abel Neron breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 94 minutes into the game, Jeremias Silban cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-1. Abel Neron was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
