In the 13th minute, Marciano Koldobika got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Lisandro López had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Octavio Pes hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Deportivo Balvanera's Abel Neron got control of the ball when Abelardo Mannuel tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 20th minute, Lisandro López left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Balvanera fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Mathieu Ceulemans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Florencio Oxarra hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 27th match minute, Deportivo Balvanera was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lisandro López to maneuver through the defense. If Mathieu Ceulemans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. US DI BESTI FC's Fikri Muhammed played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lisandro López in the 31st minute of play. In the 40th minute Severiano Taurino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fikri Muhammed saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When João Paulo Sergipano fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored US DI BESTI FC's protests and gave João Paulo Sergipano a yellow card for diving instead. After 44 played minutes, Deportivo Balvanera's Marciano Koldobika shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fikri Muhammed came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Deportivo Balvanera reached it. Fikri Muhammed showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Milito in the 48th minute of the match. After the first half Deportivo Balvanera were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fakir Štriker stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Eustaquio Panpili hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 51st minute of the match Marciano Koldobika shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fikri Muhammed showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. US DI BESTI FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mathieu Ceulemans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Mathieu Ceulemans managed to get in a good position for a shot. US DI BESTI FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mathieu Ceulemans was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abel Neron breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. US DI BESTI FC's Fikri Muhammed proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save US DI BESTI FC from getting a goal against them. Lisandro López could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Fikri Muhammed made a huge save. 70 minutes into the game, Abelardo Mannuel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. US DI BESTI FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Balvanera the free kick. In the 70th minute, Abelardo Mannuel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Abel Neron came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by US DI BESTI FC's Mathieu Ceulemans. But to his dismay, Mathieu Ceulemans quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 82 minutes into the match, US DI BESTI FC's goalkeeper Fikri Muhammed had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lisandro López. Fikri Muhammed made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lisandro López in the 84th minute. In the 85th match minute, Deportivo Balvanera was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marciano Koldobika to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Fakir Štriker's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abel Neron was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Fakir Štriker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Abel Neron tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Deportivo Balvanera supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Deportivo Balvanera would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
