Telmo Peres took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benicio Javiero. Benicio Javiero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 19 minutes into the game, Papunhas EC's Telmo Peres nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benicio Javiero made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Christian Baiano in the 23rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benicio Javiero, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 24th match minute, Atlético Nuevo Laredo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduardo Mincho to maneuver through the defense. A long shot from Marcel Pinho in the 25th minute of play was well struck, but Benicio Javiero made a really good save at the right post. 28 minutes into the match, Atlético Nuevo Laredo's goal looked a bit too open when Valdemar de Moraes came free, but Benicio Javiero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Atlético Nuevo Laredo's Benicio Javiero got control of the ball when Christian Baiano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Benicio Javiero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdemar de Moraes in the 33rd minute of the match. After 35 played minutes Papunhas EC got a freekick which was hit by Oswaldo Prado. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Nuevo Laredo's zone, Christian Baiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benicio Javiero came out of the goal and Christian Baiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valdemar de Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

After 52 minutes, Elói Aparecido mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Papunhas EC and the Atlético Nuevo Laredo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Elói Aparecido kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 54th minute of the match, Rodrigo Rojas tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ismael Nazario Serre saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Papunhas EC booed when Atlético Nuevo Laredo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Mincho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Papunhas EC's Christian Baiano got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Agostinho de Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Papunhas EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Agostinho de Carvalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benicio Javiero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benicio Javiero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Baiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. After some careless play in the Atlético Nuevo Laredo defense, Valdemar de Moraes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benicio Javiero. The Atlético Nuevo Laredo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benicio Javiero should have stopped the shot. Christian Baiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benicio Javiero didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Christian Baiano went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 6-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Baiano in the 95th minute of play forced Atlético Nuevo Laredo's goalkeeper Benicio Javiero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Baiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Benicio Javiero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Papunhas EC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
