The audience was convinced that Eric Târban's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelo Quexada was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. Marcial Lordi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cornelio Omero in the 7th minute of play. Cornelio Omero's late challenge caught a RIVER's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cornelio Omero helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, EBK's Cornelio Omero got a free kick in the 10th minute. Marcelo Quexada showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wu Li Zhi in the 11th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Eric Târban managed to get in a good position for a shot. RIVER's supporters rose to their feet, but Eric Târban was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Quexada breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcial Lordi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cornelio Omero, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 14th minute Cornelio Omero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcial Lordi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. RIVER's Marcial Lordi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusko Zubicoeta in the 34th minute of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cornelio Omero was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of RIVER booed when EBK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusko Zubicoeta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcelo Quexada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eric Târban, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 57 minutes into the match, EBK's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Târban came free, but Marcelo Quexada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Betinho Carvalho in the 67th minute of play forced RIVER's goalkeeper Marcial Lordi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute, Cornelio Omero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The EBK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Lisandro Martínez de Aldunate hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Pipo Benedetto kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 86thth minute. Though ot was a great shot EBK's keeper Marcelo Quexada was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Marcial Lordi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cornelio Omero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 91 minutes into the match, EBK's goalkeeper Marcelo Quexada had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pipo Benedetto. In the 93rd minute of the game Albino Mirande made a throw-in which Eusko Zubicoeta played forward. 94 minutes into the match, RIVER's goal looked a bit too open when Eusko Zubicoeta came free, but Marcial Lordi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute, Cornelio Omero made a precise shot to the right of Marcial Lordi. RIVER's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Although EBK had been in control for most of the match, RIVER still came away with the win.
