Corinthians's Leopoldo Palmeira managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Leonhard Askeby in the 10 minute of the game. In the 12th minute Cristiano Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tyge Oehlerich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Corinthians's goalkeeper Jaime Almeida had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafik Zoheir Zerara. But to his dismay, Rubinho de Lara quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. With a little luck, Corinthians's Jaime Almeida got control of the ball when Rafik Zoheir Zerara tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Corinthians booed when Pheonix FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aparicio Junel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tyge Oehlerich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Messi, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Tyge Oehlerich stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristiano Messi's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. After a rather tough play, Corinthians's Rubinho de Lara got a free kick in the 30th minute. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Cristiano Messi put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Tyge Oehlerich. In the 43rd match minute, Pheonix FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcel Militaru to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Corinthians getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Iván Urtzi hit a great ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vladislav Hampejs was the one to do the kick off. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Corinthians walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
