When Maximilian Seger came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Mansfield Town FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maximilian Seger couldn't finish the play. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Villa Gordiani's goalkeeper Iker Casillas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 16th minute of the match Mansfield Town FC got a corner. Villa Gordiani's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Maximilian Seger ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the final whistle sounded Mansfield Town FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Villa Gordiani.
