When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Ernesto Martini sped through The Lions's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Evert Mellberg. Ernesto Martini scored 0-3 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Evert Mellberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 20 played minutes The Lions got a freekick which was hit by Ermegildo Abastas. Evert Mellberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joel Hibai went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Hibai in the 27th minute of play forced The Lions's goalkeeper Evert Mellberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lunatics of Arianrhod's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Iustin Braniște scored to the left of an out of position Cristoforo Tammaro, making the score, 1-4. Ágoston Mészáros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Cristoforo Tammaro made a huge save. When Flavio Morelli came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Lunatics of Arianrhod fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flavio Morelli couldn't finish the play. After 36 minutes, Joel Hibai made it 1-5 with a short kick to the right side. The Lions's Evert Mellberg tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 40 minutes into the match, Lunatics of Arianrhod's goalkeeper Cristoforo Tammaro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gert Carlsson. Evert Mellberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Martini in the 43rd minute of play. Sven-Åke Pålsson hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Evert Mellberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Hibai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Lunatics of Arianrhod were leading 1-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Joel Hibai made the kick off in the second half. 1-6 became the score in the 53rd minute when Joel Hibai elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The Lions's Evert Mellberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Martini in the 56th minute of play. After 60 minutes The Lions's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Hibai who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Lunatics of Arianrhod's Joel Hibai to fire away a dangerous shot which Evert Mellberg despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 61 played minutes The Lions got a freekick which was hit by Ágoston Mészáros. The Lions's Evert Mellberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Martini in the 63rd minute of play. In the 63rd minute Ernesto Martini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evert Mellberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Evert Mellberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernesto Martini in the 64th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fedele Panza in the 69th minute of play forced The Lions's goalkeeper Evert Mellberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Flavio Morelli got free with Evert Mellberg in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Hibai in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Evert Mellberg saved The Lions from getting behind. In the 76th minute Joel Hibai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evert Mellberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gert Carlsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Martini in the 85th minute of play forced The Lions's goalkeeper Evert Mellberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute Lunatics of Arianrhod were awarded a corner. Joel Hibai went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Joel Hibai almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but The Lions's Evert Mellberg did a great save. After 88 minutes, Fedele Panza made it 1-7 with a short kick to the right side. The Lions's Evert Mellberg tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ernesto Martini received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Evert Mellberg came out and tried to block the shot, but Ernesto Martini slotted it home off the left post making it 1-8 in the 92nd minute. Lunatics of Arianrhod's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
