An unexpectedly hard shot by Gocha Head Son in the 55th minute of play forced Vascogoianiense FC's goalkeeper Nelsinho Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute Aírton Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zézinho Freitas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gocha Head Son in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nelsinho Leite prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Torreão OFF's Zézinho Freitas tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Torreão OFF made a substitution. Jânio Lira replaced Duarte Coelho. Torreão OFF's Ezequiel Ortiz was substituted for Gocha Head Son. João Pirani's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zézinho Freitas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Torreão OFF's Zézinho Freitas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aírton Sousa in the 85th minute of play. Nelsinho Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Zézinho Freitas made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Pirani in the 88th minute. In the 94th minute Jânio Lira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelsinho Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nelsinho Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ezequiel Ortiz in the 96th minute of play. Gunther Hillgaard hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Vascogoianiense FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
