Jesse McJames took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gocha Head Son, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Gocha Head Son managed to get in a good position for a shot. Torreão OFF's supporters rose to their feet, but Gocha Head Son was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jesse McJames breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Graeme Gordon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zézinho Freitas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Phillip McKeochan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zézinho Freitas was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Zézinho Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Graeme Gordon in the 16th minute of play. Torreão OFF were furious when Luciano Mineiro was red carded, 19 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 19th minute, one of Torreão OFF:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Torreão OFF. In the 21st minute there was a penalty for Smiddy Celts. Laerte Tande stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Zézinho Freitas. 0-1. Zézinho Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phillip McKeochan in the 28th minute of play. Jesse McJames made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Duarte Coelho sent off a good shot on target. Graeme Gordon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Torreão OFF's goal looked a bit too open when Phillip McKeochan came free, but Zézinho Freitas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 41 minutes of play, Smiddy Celts's Graeme Gordon made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zézinho Freitas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Zézinho Freitas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phillip McKeochan, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Duarte Coelho made a kick off. With an all-out effort, Smiddy Celts's Zézinho Freitas threw himself towards the right post 57 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Phillip McKeochan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 64th minute of the match, Graeme Gordon got a very nice opportunity to score, but Zézinho Freitas was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Torreão OFF made a substitution. Virgílio Teles replaced Duarte Coelho. Smiddy Celts made a substitution. 雷益铮 replaced Paddy Thomson. Smiddy Celts's Graeme McRobie was substituted for Graeme Gordon. After 68 played minutes Smiddy Celts got a freekick which was hit by Mbadiwe Mpenza. Graeme McRobie charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Graeme McRobie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 76 played minutes Smiddy Celts got a freekick which was hit by 雷益铮. 77 minutes into the match, Torreão OFF's goal looked a bit too open when 雷益铮 came free, but Zézinho Freitas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Phillip McKeochan fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Smiddy Celts's protests and gave Phillip McKeochan a yellow card for diving instead. Phillip McKeochan kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Smiddy Celts's Jesse McJames played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Virgílio Teles in the 81st minute of play. In the 83rd match minute, Smiddy Celts was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Will Neil to maneuver through the defense. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by Smiddy Celts's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kaur Laving was slow to take the kick. During this time Torreão OFF's players had a chance to rest. Gunther Hillgaard kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. After 90 played minutes, Smiddy Celts's Laerte Tande shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zézinho Freitas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Smiddy Celts reached it. Zézinho Freitas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Graeme McRobie in the 96th minute. Smiddy Celts's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
