The corner led Floresta Negra FC's Lokon Pøhl to fire away a dangerous shot which Artur Boruc despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 14th minute, Macabeo Sampil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rayo Bengala's Artur Boruc proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Rayo Bengala from getting a goal against them. Rayo Bengala's Macabeo Sampil got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Andy Cole managed to get in a good position for a shot. Floresta Negra FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Andy Cole was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Artur Boruc breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 31 minutes into the match, Floresta Negra FC's goal looked a bit too open when Macabeo Sampil came free, but Egun Pais reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Andy Cole came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Floresta Negra FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andy Cole couldn't finish the play. In the 34th minute, Carlos Fernando Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Egun Pais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Macabeo Sampil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Andy Cole kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Artur Boruc. That made the score 2-0 in the 41 minute of play. Andy Cole's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Artur Boruc read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. In the 48th minute Policarpio Lama shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egun Pais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

After 55 minutes Rayo Bengala's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lokon Pøhl who took care of the corner kick. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Lokon Pøhl got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 4-0. 56 minutes into the match. Andy Cole's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Artur Boruc read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. 58 minutes into the game, Floresta Negra FC's Andy Cole nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Artur Boruc made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Floresta Negra FC's Jardel Lewandowski was substituted for Andy Cole. Artur Boruc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerzy Zjawin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the match, Jerzy Zjawin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Artur Boruc. Rayo Bengala's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jerzy Zjawin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. 68 minutes into the match, Floresta Negra FC's goalkeeper Egun Pais had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Policarpio Lama. 71 minutes into the game, Jardel Lewandowski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Artur Boruc was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Artur Boruc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jardel Lewandowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rayo Bengala made a substitution. Muntis Stiebriņsons replaced Macabeo Sampil. Egun Pais didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Muntis Stiebriņsons went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 9-1 was the resulting score. Rayo Bengala's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
