Marian Văduvescu came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Jazz's Marco Jazz. But to his dismay, Marco Jazz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Jazz in the 23rd minute of play forced FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Marian Văduvescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Jazz's zone, Lucian Stere stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrea Bolognesi came out of the goal and Lucian Stere tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nicolae Barbu hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After 27 minutes FC Steaua Pildesti's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joshua Hart who took care of the corner kick. Carmine Bellisario was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Marian Văduvescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.
