After taking down the ball on Sporting Clube de Gaya's corner Fredy Montero fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sylwester Chazon quite easily take care of the ball. Renato Vargas came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Pretoria Gostyń's Beniamin Makarewicz. But to his dismay, Beniamin Makarewicz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Sylwester Chazon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Fernandes in the 20th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 22 minutes, Sylwester Chazon successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A collision led to Pretoria Gostyń getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Beniamin Makarewicz hit a great ball. Sporting Clube de Gaya's Fredy Montero shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 23rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Sylwester Chazon but with some difficulty. Renato Vargas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lionel-Andrés Messi in the 25th minute of the match. After having played for 30 minutes, Lionel-Andrés Messi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pretoria Gostyń's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lionel-Andrés Messi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an all-out effort, Sporting Clube de Gaya's Sylwester Chazon threw himself towards the right post 32 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eloy Hats, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a defensive mix-up in Pretoria Gostyń's zone, Lucílio Figueiras stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sylwester Chazon came out of the goal and Lucílio Figueiras tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Tomás Clodio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pretoria Gostyń's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomás Clodio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Renato Vargas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 44th minute, Eloy Hats hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomás Clodio made a kick off. Sporting Clube de Gaya's Renato Vargas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lionel-Andrés Messi in the 50th minute of play. 52 minutes into the game, Lionel-Andrés Messi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Renato Vargas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 54th minute, Lucílio Figueiras hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Pretoria Gostyń's Tomás Clodio in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sporting Clube de Gaya's goalie prevented a goal. In the 66th minute of the match Pretoria Gostyń got a corner. Sporting Clube de Gaya's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lionel-Andrés Messi ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Lionel-Andrés Messi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 89 played minutes Sporting Clube de Gaya got a freekick which was hit by Virgílio Portugal. Tomás Clodios short, quick shot in the 91stth minute got Renato Vargas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
