The nice shot from Emanuel Ogășanu in the 15thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Sylwester Chazon had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Alfred Marke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Sylwester Chazon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Sydney FC's Önder Cebi dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. In the 24th minute of the match Sydney FC got a corner. Pretoria Gostyń's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ferdinand Mendy ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Pretoria Gostyń's goalie and right to Angelo Milanese. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Pretoria Gostyń's Sylwester Chazon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Ogășanu in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Aureliusz Komornicki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Emanuel Ogășanu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sylwester Chazon was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. 33 minutes into the match, Pretoria Gostyń's goal looked a bit too open when Guy Rothe came free, but Sylwester Chazon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomás Clodio made a kick off. Angelo Milanese fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sylwester Chazon having to interfere. In the 62nd minute Emanuel Ogășanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sylwester Chazon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Pretoria Gostyń players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
