Adolfo Caires ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Jose Cachero got away a dangerous shot. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ethan Pearce prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 37 minutes into the match, SLB TELHA's Luís Ribas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ethan Pearce narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Ribas got free with Ethan Pearce in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
