The corner led Voskresensk FC's Gu Xuan Xiong to fire away a dangerous shot which Hickey Dunne despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 10 played minutes Voskresensk FC got a freekick which was hit by Evgeniy Fomichev. 12 minutes into the match, Prishtina FC's goalkeeper Hickey Dunne had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gleb Sorokin. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Donato Conrao in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Igor Akinfeev saved Voskresensk FC from getting behind. Prishtina FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel van Zwieten in the 16th minute. The corner ended in Gilvan Luz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Voskresensk FC's Igor Akinfeev did a great save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Donato Conrao in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Igor Akinfeev prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Gleb Sorokin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hickey Dunne was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Donato Conrao in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Igor Akinfeev saved Voskresensk FC from getting behind. If Esat Naum had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute Donato Conrao shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Akinfeev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hickey Dunne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fedor Ivanchuk in the 29th minute of the match. Stepan Romm hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Daniel van Zwieten was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 42nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. A collision led to Prishtina FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Daniel van Zwieten hit a great ball. Hickey Dunne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fedor Ivanchuk, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After having played for 51 minutes, Esat Naum managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Prishtina FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Esat Naum was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hickey Dunne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fedor Ivanchuk in the 57th minute of play. In the 61st match minute, Voskresensk FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaspar Pijps to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Esat Naum in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Igor Akinfeev saved Voskresensk FC from getting behind. Fedor Ivanchuk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Voskresensk FC's Igor Akinfeev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Voskresensk FC from getting a goal against them. Hickey Dunne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evgeniy Fomichev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Voskresensk FC's Igor Akinfeev got control of the ball when Tião Donato tried to sneak it across the goal line. Prishtina FC made a substitution. Lilo Berberi replaced Esat Naum.
