The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. AFC United's Lei Bin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Gentza in the 3rd minute of play. Václav Filipi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andries De Putter, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 11thth minute of the game Andries De Putter who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ATLETICO MENDOZA's Václav Filipi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Andries De Putter blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Václav Filipi having to make a save. In the 16th minute Andries De Putter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Václav Filipi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute, Ivan Gentza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jordi Scherz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 23 minutes ATLETICO MENDOZA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jordi Scherz who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Isaac Fernandez managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Lei Bin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Gentza in the 25th minute of the match. Andries De Putter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximino Ruy in the 33rd minute of play forced AFC United's goalkeeper Lei Bin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AFC United's Lei Bin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jose Chale in the 36th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Baldomiro Enol in the 42nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by AFC United's Zeng Sang Chao. Lei Bin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose Chale, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Andries De Putter made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Andries De Putter cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Václav Filipi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Baldomiro Enol got a throw-in 59 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Maximino Ruy. Václav Filipi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andries De Putter, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Václav Filipi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andries De Putter in the 63rd minute of the match. Ladislao Cresitobalo hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. ATLETICO MENDOZA made a substitution. Juanito Azulay replaced Baldomiro Enol. AFC United made a substitution. Peru Diaz replaced Bilintx Trilla. ATLETICO MENDOZA made a substitution. Justo Muno replaced Jose Chale. AFC United's Faustino Asprilla was substituted for Andries De Putter. In the 67th match minute, ATLETICO MENDOZA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ladislao Cresitobalo to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute, Jordi Scherz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Faustino Asprilla in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Václav Filipi saved ATLETICO MENDOZA from getting behind. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind ATLETICO MENDOZA's goalkeeper Václav Filipi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Faustino Asprilla came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the AFC United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Faustino Asprilla couldn't finish the play. A collision led to ATLETICO MENDOZA getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Juanito Azulay hit a great ball. Václav Filipi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faustino Asprilla in the 82nd minute of the match. Faustino Asprilla took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Václav Filipi. Václav Filipi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. AFC United were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of ATLETICO MENDOZA for a fine match.
