Emilio Jakue received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Leoiar Liebana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute Filip Bäckman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leoiar Liebana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leoiar Liebana was a little too slow when Filip Bäckman got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 2-0. When Filip Bäckman came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the GAIS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filip Bäckman couldn't finish the play. Wlodzimierz Cipinski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Motlaq Al Zamel went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luai Al Motaire in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wlodzimierz Cipinski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Al Hilal Saudi's Sarhan Al Mulaifi got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Leoiar Liebana was out of position in the 44 minute of play, and Filip Bäckman capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Filip Bäckman really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Yaseen Al Ateqi to make the kick off. Leoiar Liebana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filip Bäckman in the 50th minute of play. 51 minutes into the game, Sarhan Al Mulaifi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Al Hilal Saudi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GAIS the free kick. After 51 played minutes Al Hilal Saudi got a freekick which was hit by Sarhan Al Mulaifi. The referee felt a red card was in order, 53 minutes into the game, when Franklin Gonçalves put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in GAIS fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 52nd minute. Penalty! Wlodzimierz Cipinski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yaseen Al Ateqi's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Al Hilal Saudi's goal looked a bit too open when Filip Bäckman came free, but Leoiar Liebana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Filip Bäckman succeeded in the game's 59th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 4-2. With an all-out effort, Al Hilal Saudi's Wlodzimierz Cipinski threw himself towards the right post 62 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Yaseen Al Ateqi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Al Hilal Saudi getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Yaseen Al Ateqi hit a great ball. Yaseen Al Ateqi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute.
