Zeledon Curcio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Chesus in the 16th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurids Grejsen in the 19th minute of play forced Patay Juniors's goalkeeper Cayetano Francho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Yala's Cayetano Francho threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Laurids Grejsen, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Through an outstanding action, after 21 minutes, Cayetano Francho successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 21st play minute Laurids Grejsen came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Cayetano Francho. 1-0. Cayetano Francho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddy Valentine in the 24th minute of play. Cayetano Francho made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Laurids Grejsen sent off a good shot on target. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Prospero Petri stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Niki Bundev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Patay Juniors getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Justino Pinto hit a great ball. Patay Juniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Freddy Valentine was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Niki Bundev managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yala's supporters rose to their feet, but Niki Bundev was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cayetano Francho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cayetano Francho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Freddy Valentine, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. In the 96th minute, Yala's Freddy Claude seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Freddy Claude the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Yala protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Freddy Claude had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Zeledon Curcio went to the wrong direction when Prospero Petri was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The Yala players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
