After a rather tough play, Linköpings AIK's Tavo Tomat got a free kick in the 10th minute. Jimmy Olsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iulian Pietreanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Baldomiro Txindoki had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arvid Carlsson. Linköpings AIK were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Willy Witarya took the corner. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julien Staffelbach got free with Baldomiro Txindoki in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arvid Carlsson in the 23rd minute of play forced FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Baldomiro Txindoki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julien Staffelbach in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Baldomiro Txindoki saved FC UNIREA Alba Iulia from getting behind. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julien Staffelbach stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Joakim Mikaelsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baldomiro Txindoki having to interfere. A collision led to FC UNIREA Alba Iulia getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Nicolae Ungureanu hit a great ball. Marbjörn Garpsson scored 2-2 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Baldomiro Txindoki, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
