The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Reko Nybacka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bebben Johansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the match, Catugi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Loco Durazno came free, but Reko Nybacka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Loco Durazno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Golden Lions FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Loco Durazno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reko Nybacka breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anders Lundqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walmir Pombal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Catugi FC's Anders Lundqvist threw himself towards the right post 38 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Walmir Pombal, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 44th play minute Fabiano Maranhense came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Anders Lundqvist. 1-0.
