To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 33 minutes into the match, Seagulls's goal looked a bit too open when Aquiles Urtsin came free, but Aurelio Rexino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute Darwin Núñez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Rexino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th minute, Darwin Núñez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Merengue FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2.

Aquiles Urtsin was extremely unlucky when he, in the 52nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Bayan Gugovski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nildo Matos, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Aurelio Rexino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aquiles Urtsin's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. A collision led to Seagulls getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Benjamin Jol hit a great ball. Aquiles Urtsin struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Aurelio Rexino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merengue FC. After a defensive mix-up in Merengue FC's zone, Milosz Zgonina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bayan Gugovski came out of the goal and Milosz Zgonina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Merengue FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
