The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erdeniz Dilsuz was the one to do the kick off. Juš Düren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Maradona in the 52nd minute of the match. Sporting de Gijón made a substitution. Venancio Emesto replaced Alejandro Rufo. The audience was convinced that Matias Bilintx's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juš Düren was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Óscar Cordoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Turgut Tunçkol, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Juš Düren came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting de Gijón's Venancio Emesto. But to his dismay, Venancio Emesto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3.
