The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Zé Roberto Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tory Pryor, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After some careless play in the FC Wil 1900 defense, Stamen Tekeliev kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lionel Paly. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stamen Tekeliev in the 17th minute of play forced FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Roberto Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Dové in the 19th minute of play. FC Wil 1900 were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after Playa Malvín's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Téo Rosa took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Téo Rosa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Zé Roberto Teixeira quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Stamen Tekeliev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lionel Paly showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stamen Tekeliev in the 25th minute of the match. Stamen Tekeliev blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lionel Paly having to make a save. Lionel Paly took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stamen Tekeliev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zé Roberto Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tory Pryor in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Stamen Tekeliev made a precise shot to the right of Lionel Paly. FC Wil 1900's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. If Stamen Tekeliev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Stamen Tekeliev might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lionel Paly. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stamen Tekeliev ran back to his position shaking his head. Lionel Paly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stamen Tekeliev, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Zé Roberto Teixeira made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Georges Gladu sent off a good shot on target. Lionel Paly made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stamen Tekeliev in the 43rd minute of play. FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stamen Tekeliev in the 45th minute of play. In the 47th match minute, FC Wil 1900 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Téo Rosa to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tory Pryor to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Stamen Tekeliev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lionel Paly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stamen Tekeliev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 58 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's goal looked a bit too open when Stamen Tekeliev came free, but Lionel Paly reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lionel Paly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stamen Tekeliev, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Zé Roberto Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Téo Rosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Playa Malvín's Josu Onez was substituted for Jabier Igual. Zé Roberto Teixeira came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by FC Wil 1900's Tory Pryor. But to his dismay, Tory Pryor quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Zé Roberto Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pirmin Jäggi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 92 minutes of play, Playa Malvín's Niva Espellosa made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lionel Paly was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Playa Malvín supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Playa Malvín would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
