Villa Gordiani's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gaudencio Lekubegi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Iwan Lepucki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ove Bergman in the 13th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Gaudencio Lekubegi made a precise shot to the right of Iker Casillas. Villa Gordiani's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Villa Gordiani's Iker Casillas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaudencio Lekubegi in the 21st minute of play. In the 23rd minute Fabrizio Canzano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iwan Lepucki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th match minute, LavAzzA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xavier von Felten to maneuver through the defense. Villa Gordiani's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LavAzzA the free kick. A collision led to Villa Gordiani getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Fabrizio Canzano hit a great ball. In the 34th minute Gaudencio Lekubegi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Casillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. LavAzzA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Amerigo Labarra in the 35th minute. Iwan Lepucki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ove Bergman in the 36th minute of play. Iker Casillas came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by LavAzzA's Gaudencio Lekubegi. But to his dismay, Gaudencio Lekubegi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. LavAzzA's Iwan Lepucki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save LavAzzA from getting a goal against them. The supporters of LavAzzA booed when Villa Gordiani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Esposito didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Villa Gordiani's Franco Cacciatore was substituted for Ciro Esposito. LavAzzA's Fred Feuerstein managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Anfilogino Trombatore in the 52 minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gaudencio Lekubegi in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iker Casillas saved Villa Gordiani from getting behind. The supporters of LavAzzA booed when Villa Gordiani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Otang Irawan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iker Casillas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaudencio Lekubegi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabrizio Canzano in the 71st minute of play forced LavAzzA's goalkeeper Iwan Lepucki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 72 minutes into the match, LavAzzA's Gaudencio Lekubegi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Iker Casillas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Villa Gordiani's Fabrizio Canzano got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mai Di Chao struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Iker Casillas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LavAzzA. Iker Casillas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaudencio Lekubegi in the 83rd minute of play. In the 86th minute of the match LavAzzA got a corner. Villa Gordiani's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Amerigo Labarra ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gaudencio Lekubegi got free with Iker Casillas in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Villa Gordiani's Iker Casillas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Villa Gordiani from getting a goal against them. In the 93rd minute of the match, Gaudencio Lekubegi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Iker Casillas saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The LavAzzA players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
