Fabian Söderman was slow to take the kick. During this time Vykans Vikingar's players had a chance to rest. Mats Sundberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernesto Minichiello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Torbjörn Ekblom who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Armando Polidori when he managed to save the team from getting behind. XMAS's Armando Polidori proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save XMAS from getting a goal against them. Ferruccio Cesaroni kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. A hard shot by Fabian Söderman from long distance, 25 minutes into the match, got Armando Polidori's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 27thth minute of the game Ingvar Sjögren who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but XMAS's Armando Polidori was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 29 minutes XMAS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fabian Söderman who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Vykans Vikingar's corner Fabian Söderman fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Armando Polidori quite easily take care of the ball. Torbjörn Ekblom might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armando Polidori. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Torbjörn Ekblom ran back to his position shaking his head. Mats Sundberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Minichiello in the 39th minute of play. Ernesto Minichiello took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mats Sundberg. Mats Sundberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After the first half XMAS were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ernesto Minichiello to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Vykans Vikingar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathias Källberg to maneuver through the defense. In the 53rd minute, XMAS's Alberigo Gianfrancesco ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mats Sundberg. Mats Sundberg yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Per-Åke Nyström charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Per-Åke Nyström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Vykans Vikingar getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Per-Åke Nyström hit a great ball. Mats Sundberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberigo Gianfrancesco, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. After a rather tough play, XMAS's Christian Zaccardi got a free kick in the 67th minute. XMAS's Armando Polidori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingvar Sjögren in the 68th minute of play. Torbjörn Ekblom took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Armando Polidori. Armando Polidori dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Mats Sundberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberigo Gianfrancesco, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Ennio De Nardis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 81st minute, Kim Kruse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ennio De Nardis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mats Sundberg having to interfere. Mats Sundberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberigo Gianfrancesco in the 89th minute of play. In the 91st minute Ingvar Sjögren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Polidori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Vykans Vikingar fans' excitement grew in the 92nd match minute when Vykans Vikingar's Torbjörn Ekblom looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The Vykans Vikingar support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
