Wilfredo Etxahun scored 2-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kacper Prosowski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 16 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Fausto George had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucjan Burufski. After 18 minutes, Lautaro Blanco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sporting de Gijón and the AKS Kozienice players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of AKS Kozienice booed when Sporting de Gijón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Blanco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fausto George showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucjan Burufski in the 19th minute of the match. Lucjan Burufski took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fausto George. Fausto George dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Aaron Anselmino made in the 28th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by AKS Kozienice's Dobromir Chodzinski. When Blas-Armando Giunta came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Sporting de Gijón fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Blas-Armando Giunta couldn't finish the play. 34 minutes into the game, one of Sporting de Gijón:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 35 minutes, AKS Kozienice's Ryszard Jaszyna got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Fausto George. Kacper Prosowski came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting de Gijón's Omar Etor. But to his dismay, Omar Etor quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Wilfredo Etxahun made the kick off in the second half. Fausto George showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucjan Burufski, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. A collision led to Sporting de Gijón getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Lautaro Blanco hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucjan Burufski in the 57th minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Fausto George to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 58 minutes into the match, AKS Kozienice's goalkeeper Kacper Prosowski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Blas-Armando Giunta. In the 61st minute Lucjan Burufski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto George saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfred Drab struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Fausto George didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AKS Kozienice. Osvaldo Meireles kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Fausto George showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucjan Burufski, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Fausto George didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lucjan Burufski went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-2 was the resulting score. Fausto George made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfred Drab in the 86th minute of play. Lucjan Burufski took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fausto George. Fausto George dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-2. Osvaldo Meireles struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Fausto George didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AKS Kozienice. There was no doubt that AKS Kozienice were the better team. AKS Kozienice's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
