The supporters of Picanya FC booed when Sporting de Gijón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Medina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Narcis Ipătescu struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Fausto George didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Picanya FC. The supporters of Picanya FC booed when Sporting de Gijón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruslan Rudchenko didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pepito Riba made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Blas-Armando Giunta sent off a good shot on target. After 18 played minutes Picanya FC got a freekick which was hit by János Dankó. After 28 minutes of play, Picanya FC's Qwinton Pedrosa made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fausto George was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fausto George made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Qwinton Pedrosa in the 32nd minute of play. Pepito Riba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Omar Etor in the 34th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Qwinton Pedrosa made a precise shot to the right of Fausto George. Sporting de Gijón's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After 39 played minutes Picanya FC got a freekick which was hit by Arbidel Pais. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilfredo Etxahun in the 40th minute of play forced Picanya FC's goalkeeper Pepito Riba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Picanya FC's goalkeeper Pepito Riba, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Qwinton Pedrosa in the 43rd minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Fausto George to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Picanya FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Narcis Ipătescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fausto George breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fausto George made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Qwinton Pedrosa in the 92nd minute of play. Fausto George was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ander Astudillo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 94 minute of play. After some careless play in the Sporting de Gijón defense, Qwinton Pedrosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fausto George. The Sporting de Gijón fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fausto George should have stopped the shot.
